Seargaent York

Sergeant York is a 1941 biographical film based on the life of Alvin C. York, who became one of the most celebrated and decorated heroes of World War I. The role of York is played by Gary Cooper, who played in other famous films like "Meet John Doe" and " The Pride of the Yankees". The film centers around Yorks's faith and his time in the war. At first, York is not too happy about killing men. However, his conviction later gives him more clarity about what he should do. At one crucial point of the war, York and his men are outnumbered. But York turns the tables with his incredible marksmanship and captures German soldiers and officers all by himself. With all his accolades and accomplishments, he could have made a lot of money. Yet, Yorks greatest desire was to return to his home in Tennessee and marry his sweetheart, Gracie. The heroic accounts of Alvin C. York in the Great War were so improbable, you would think his story was an old fable or something out of Greek mythology. On the contrary, his account was very real, and the life he lived was far more superhuman than any comic book could ever tell.
