Cleopatra

Historical Epics were the talk of tinsel town in the '50 and ''60s. Films like Ben-Hur, Spartacus, and The Ten Commandments set the tone for directors looking to make their mark with an epic production. One movie, in particular, had one of the biggest budgets in film history($31.12 million) - "Cleopatra", starring Elizabeth Taylor(Cleopatra), Rex Harrison (Julius Ceasar), and Richard Burton(Mark Anthony). Liz Taylor had the looks, charm, and charisma for the leading role, but her on-screen chemistry with Richard Burton was what really sold the movie. The two eventually got married after the film came out, though it lasted only ten years.
For you history buffs, this film is for you. It's one of Taylor's finest performances and she later becomes one of the highest-paid actresses for that era.
