Knute Rockne: All American
Long before he was demanding, "Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall" and leading the free world as the 40th President of the United States, Ronald Regan had another career- an American Actor. Regan didn't get many big lead roles, he usually played a supporting actor for well-knowns like Jimmy Stewart and Henry Fonda, but he shined in one movie in particular- "Knute Rockne: All American", the story of legendary football coach, Knute Rockne. Regan played the role of George Gipp, an All-American football player for the University of Notre Dame who died of pneumonia at the age of 25. The movie is based on a true story, and you hear the "win one for the Gipper" speech near the end of the film. Even though "Dutch" (as they called him) was better known for his work as President, the work he did in Hollywood will never be forgotten.
